You're Invited! A Student's Preview of our Wholistic Nutrition Community Event
On Friday April 19th, from 6:00-8:00pm the soon-to-be graduates of the Wholistic Nutrition Program will be hosting an open house at the Wellspring School for Healing Arts. This is actually one of our program requirements and hard to believe we’ve almost reached the end of our studies. It has gone by so quickly!
Each of us have either partnered with another student or individually created a booth featuring “table top topics” inspired by our theme DIY: Simple Solutions for Healthy Living. The event will showcase healthful, simple, and inexpensive do-it-yourself projects you can easily make at home including: nut milks, creams and butters, simple condiments and fermented foods, medicinal remedies from the kitchen, and nutrient rich snacks and breakfasts. We will be demonstrating our projects with hands on activities, sharing our resources and recipes, and have many wonderful samples to enjoy through out the evening, and some to take home as well!
My table will have several herbal “teas” and tonics that help with seasonal allergy symptoms, blends that aid in relaxation and are calming, in addition to a digestive and liver supporting tinctures. This particular component of the program has allowed me the opportunity to delve into a subject I have been interested in for quite awhile now, but didn’t know how to approach it. I love plants, and growing culinary herbs is a hobby of mine. It’s exciting to share what I’ve learned, and I will show just how easy it is to prepare these blends. Perhaps making custom teas and herbal blends will be an aspect of my nutritional practice?
The evening will be a fun one with snacks, samples, handouts and lots of great discussion!
Please join us as we are looking forward to sharing our newly gained knowledge of holistic nutrition, and showing off our unique and fabulous table topics. We can’t wait to see you!
