An appetite for flowers
Did you know the first recorded mention of the culinary use of flowers dates back to 140 BC? And now that you do, would you like to learn more and bring some of this time-tested (and beautiful!) tradition into your kitchen, too?
Breanna Lohnnes, one of our Wholistic Nutrition students, has created a presentation about edible flowers that both informed and inspired our group, and now we are sharing it with you. Just click the button at the bottom of this post, and the slides are all yours, complete with historical anecdotes and and recipes.
We think this presentation is a great example of the spirit of our Wholistic Nutrition program: it is thorough, scientifically sound, engaging, and applicable. As future guides through the exciting – and sometimes confusing – landscape of wholistic nutrition, our students learn to give their clients an understanding of the foundation of the treatment approach as well as clear and appropriate steps to integrate it into their individual lives.
If this is a role that appeals to you, your next chance to join our Wholistic Nutrition program is coming up in March. You can find more details on the program page, and everything you need to apply is gathered on this page. Of course, you are also welcome to contact us to start the conversation, or stop by our next Open House on February 4th to talk in person.
Either way, we are sure you’ll love the floral ice cubes in your spring beverages!
