Experience Breema, The Art of Being Present
Please note: This is a guest post contributed by The Breema Center about their upcoming weekend workshop and introductory evenings.
“One of the greatest gifts I have given to myself as a massage therapist is my practice of Breema. One of the most important things for me to remember is that by taking care of myself I am also taking care of my clients. The focus in Breema is on myself as the practitioner. Knowing I am taking care of myself allows me to be truly receptive to my clients.
It is also a gift to simply be present with my clients. Within that presence is the wish to acknowledge and accept them without judgment, which creates a nurturing and transformative atmosphere. In Breema classes I learn simple tools that support me to take step after step in the direction of being present. I use these tools, such as the Nine Principles of Harmony, during a session to connect to myself and to be available for anything that arises in that treatment. When I am present, my clients inwardly give themselves permission to let go of whatever they don’t need and become more balanced and present as well.
I have learned that by supporting myself in this way and being connected to my own experience, I am giving and receiving simultaneously all that’s needed in the moment, and my client and I both benefit.”

Immerse Yourself in the Weekend Workshop
In the hands-on weekend workshop on November 1-2, you will learn and practice Breema and explore the Nine Principles in an accepting, nonjudgmental, and alive atmosphere.
Breema helps establish a tangible body-mind connection that increases our receptivity and availability to be present and fully participate in whatever activity we are doing. Through practicing and receiving Breema, we can take many steps toward tasting the essential unity of all Existence.
This is a rare opportunity to study with Jon Schreiber, Director of the Breema Center and Breema Clinic in Oakland, CA, who will be leading the workshop. Jon is the author of several books about Breema, including Waking Up to This Moment.
No bodywork experience is needed, but please be comfortable sitting and working on a padded floor. 12 hours CE available for LMTs.
Discount for early workshop registration by October 17. Saturday-only attendance is available. To register, contact Steve Brodsky at 541-914-4162 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
