Fundamentals of Chinese Medicine (Portland)
This class focuses on the founding principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and their relative importance to Wholistic Nutrition. Topics include wholistic vs. reductionist thought, the concept and principles of Qi (energy), causes of disease, Yin/Yang theory, an overview of the TCM concept of the Organs and their functions, the Five Elemental Energies and their correspondences, the generation of Qi and its areas of influence, the transformation fluids (Jin -Ye) and the function and production of Blood (Xue).
