Welcome Jacki! Good Luck Lauren!
This week’s post is somewhat bittersweet as we say goodbye to a good friend and simultaneously welcome a great new addition to The Wellspring School office team. On the completely fabulous front, we are thrilled to introduce Jacki Richer who joins us as our new office administrator. Jacki brings experience, enthusiasm and a love for holistic medicine to her role.
Jacki, a native Californian, was drawn to the PNW in early 2015, and is proud to call Portland her home! After graduating from Northern Arizona University in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology & Chemistry, she moved to Toronto, where she completed one year of schooling at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She left CCNM was a newfound passion for Eastern Medicine and Taoist philosophy.
After moving back to the States, Jacki completed a 200-hour Medical Qi Gong certification program that changed her outlook on life and wellness in a powerful way. In her free time, Jacki is working on her Sustainability focused Masters of Business Administration from the University of Portland. She hopes to use her MBA as a tool to help businesses adopt Green Business Standards – improving the quality of life for their customers, employees, communities, and the planet!
Becoming the Office Assistant for The Wellspring School has been a great opportunity for Jacki that combines her love of education, her passion for alternative medicine, and her vast administrative experience – in a healthy and supportive work environment. She is excited to be part of The Wellspring School team, and is always available to help answer your questions!
Now for a sniffle or two… We are sad to say goodbye to Lauren Acker, office assistant for the past year and a half and prior to that was a student in the Wholistic Nutrition Program.
Lauren brought a lot of light, passion and laughter to the office and The Wellspring School community. We will miss her! However, we are very excited for her as she undertakes the next phase of her next journey, law school. Lauren plans to study law at William & Mary (VA) in the fall. The areas of law currently of interest to her include environmental, food and agriculture. She is fueled by her passion to ensure everyone has access to healthy, clean whole foods. We can’t wait to see how her adventure unfolds.
In parting, Lauren says she has really enjoyed her time as both student and staff member of the community. When asked about highlights, Lauren cited working clinics has been a favorite experience of hers as she’s loved to see the benefits of what we do directly applied to the public.
Lauren confesses she will miss all of the excellent outdoor adventures she’s had in Portland (hiking, skiing, surfing, rock climbing, etc.) and even more specifically the food culture of the city. However, she is very excited to see what her new environs in Virginia have to offer and is happy to report she will have her own kitchen to take advantage of – thankfully no dorm cafeteria!
Lauren’s last day is Friday, June 3rd.
Good luck, Lauren!
