Wholistic Nutrition & Cooking Class Series – Starts July 15th!

Enjoy a hands on approach cooking in the kitchen and lively class time exploring the basics and beyond of Wholistic Nutrition in just four class weekends!

For the past ten years we have offered a professional certification program in Wholistic Nutrition. This program combines the tenets of Chinese Medicine and Energetics of nutrition with cutting edge whole foods based wholistic nutrition principles. Students have historically loved both the cooking classes (taught by various chefs over the years), as well as the wholistic nutrition classes with Rylen. We decided these were such great classes that wanted to offer them to public participants as one (heavily discounted) bundled class series.

What should you expect?

Each class weekend is comprised on one day spent in the kitchen for the cooking lab and one day in the classroom diving into wholistic nutrition from both the perspective of Chinese Medicine and Western Whole Foods based traditional nutrition with Rylen.

Cooking Labs I, II & III are led by Chef Jason Lee and cover everything from cooking techniques to creating balanced, nutritious meals to making substitutions for food sensitivities, allergies and illnesses. Cooking Lab IV gives students the opportunity to explore Chinese Energetics of food in the kitchen with instructor Ellen Goldsmith,  LAc. Students work together in small groups preparing a variety of dishes and menus and enjoy eating meals together while discussing in more depth what they’ve learned.

Classes with Rylen will cover everything from the review of Chinese Medicine principles as they pertain to nutrition (seasonal considerations, energetics, food preparations, etc.) to food politics and policies (GMO’s, organics, sustainability) to requisite considerations for various foods and macronutrients (grain, meat, dairy, fats, etc.).

Who can take these classes?

Taken together, these classes will provide the practitioner with a terrific foundation for providing solid whole foods based nutritional recommendations to clients as well as providing them with information and experience they can apply to their own well-being. Wholistic Nutrition I & II are pre-approved for NCCAOM PDAs (14 hours each). Space permitting, these classes are also open to community members. Everyone can benefit from these classes. And did we mention they are fun?
